Mikkel is Co-founder and Chairman in NREP, a leading Northern European real estate investment house driven by a mission of making real estate better. The NREP approach and mission has lead NREP to not only be one of world’s most consistently outperforming managers, but also a founder and developer of several leading Nordic real estate platforms, such as Pelican, Logicentres, UMEUS, Plus Husene as well as an important counterparty for municipalities on large scale city development projects and cutting-edge sustainability innovations such as UN 17 Village and Upcycle Studios some of the world’s first “upcycled” development projects. NREP employs more than 300 dedicated passionate people across its six offices in the four Nordic capitals, as well as Luxembourg and London. NREP manages more than 6bn of AuM. Mikkel Bülow-Lehnsby is currently the Chairman of NREP, which he co-founded and lead in its initial 13 years of existence as the company’s CEO. Over the years Mikkel has played an important part in developing NREP’s unique investment strategy and culture anchored in a strong belief that solving problems and nudging the world in a better direction is a superior long-term business model. Mikkel currently focuses on his leadership as chairman in NREP and Chairman of the Investment Committee of “2150” an Urban Sustainability Tech fund focused on applying technology to make real estate better, as part of the overall NREP purpose. Prior to establishing the firm, Mikkel worked with M&A, business development, corporate strategy and entrepreneurship within the Egmont Group, Goldman Sachs and in various start-ups in London, Copenhagen, Chile and Boston. Mikkel holds a valedictorian B.Sc. in International Business from the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark and an MBA from the Harvard Business School, USA. Mikkel is a member of the board of the global SDG initiative “UN Live”, of “Lendager Group” who is pioneering upcycling in buildings as well as the “Human Practice Foundation”. Finally, Mikkel is long term member of “The Well” in “Charity Water” a leading global charity that has brought clean water to more than 11 million people in the World. Mikkel is also a passionate investor and supporter of numerous startups aligned with his vision of solving problems to nudge the world in a better direction.
